Here's a story of 10 adventurous men hoping to sail across the Atlantic individually in 10 little boats. They were all cheered by the crowd at the start point & they joyfully sailed away till they looked back and couldn't see the dock where the journey started. The journey was smooth & full of smiles till it started to rain & the storms came rolling about three thousand miles away from the start point. The sight of the raging storm made occupants of 5 boats panic and they made their boat flip and they drowned. Two of the boats were badly damaged but the occupants held on to what was left of the boat hoping help would come. The three other boats unaffected by the storm managed to sail away from the dangers to continue their journey. Help indeed came for the occupants of the 2 boats that held on & they hitched a ride with the coast guards back to the dock.
10 ADVENTUROUS MEN: Just an illustration of you & I on a journey to fulfillment.
ATLANTIC: Life as a big & uncertain journey.
LITTLE BOATS: Our careers are our carriers.
CHEERING CROWD: Friends & families won't join in life's journey. You're on your own.
STORM: Life trials.
THE 5 THAT DROWNED: The least prepared people who will loose their lives without even getting the chance to ask why life's cruel.
THE 3 THAT SAILED ON: They are the lucky ones. Sometime they are prepared & sometime they aren't but life chose to let them go free.
THE 2 THAT HELD ON: They were prepared but life still got them on their knees. They may never stop asking WHY life chose to be cruel to them. Their strong will was the only reason they held on till help came. Maybe they'll get another chance.
CONCLUSION: My message is for the 2 that held on. Life have never been & will never be fair. You may ask why life chose to be kind to some & mean to you but those are some of the questions we'll never find answers to. It's left to you to decide whether to sit & mourn your losses or start the journey again and trust the maker to help you finish well. I'll suggest the later!
